Dean: “It’s been a positive week”

Prior to the match, our number six talked about the squad’s philosophy, the mindset in the locker room, and how happy he is to play for the team.

“This week has been going well. After Saturday’s outcome, we obviously had a lot of work to do, but the manager made some adjustments, and I believe the guys arrived on Monday with all the motivation they needed to perform well this weekend and make up for the loss.

The advantage of having such a young team, in my opinion, is that we don’t focus on whether we won or lost; instead, we just look forward to the next game and another chance to prove ourselves.

I believe we should just concentrate on our work since the purpose of this league is to put the ball in one goal and keep it out of the other. At the club, we truly have our own ideology, and if we put it into practice as best we can, we typically see results.

Our philosophy has just evolved; I wouldn’t say it has altered. Though we’ve added a few things, mostly in possession, I believe we’ve maintained the same fundamentals. We like to change things up, so we’re much more unpredictable today, which is excellent in this league, in my opinion. Although playing out from the back has recently become popular in football, it’s not always the greatest strategy, and as you can see, we change it up a lot.

Why not make greater use of someone like Sam Smith up there who can occupy defenders and put in a lot of effort to bring others into play and turn a bad ball into a good ball?

You want to play football above all else, and I’m glad to be doing that. Although I’m disappointed that I haven’t played nearly as much as I would have liked to since coming here, I now have the chance to do so.

Do something correctly if you’re going to do it. It all comes down to being a competent professional and being prepared for the moment when the opportunity arises.
