Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Fábio Silva has struggled for regular game time and failed to impress when granted minutes at Molineux.
On summer deadline day, the striker joined UD Las Palmas on a season-long loan, and the move has paid off for him.
The Wolves-owned player has six goals and two assists in 15 league outings for Las Palmas.
Jorge Silva, Fábio Silva’s brother, told Marca on Friday that the 22-year-old is enjoying his time at the La Liga club.
“He is quite happy, and I believe you can see it especially on the pitch. “He speaks highly of the team, the group he forms on and off the pitch, and the overall quality of the squad,” he explained.
The Portugal international scored the winning goal against Barcelona and also scored in Las Palmas’ league defeat to Real Madrid, which was 4-1.
“It was a great sensation to score against such strong teams as Barcelona and Real Madrid. “It’s important for a striker to score, especially against teams like these,” Jorge stated.
According to Fábio’s brother, the Wolves player made the correct decision to leave the Premier League club on loan last summer. Jorge remarked this while discussing his travel to the Canary Islands to meet his brother.
“I managed to go to see one of their games and I can say that I really liked the atmosphere in the stadium and in the city,” he told me.
“I think it was the best decision to go and play in Las Palmas, because it is a very good and competitive league, and he will have minutes to prove his worth with goals and performances at the level he has had.”
According to Marca, Fábio’s strong performances for Las Palmas increased his price from €11 million to €18 million. According to the report, Vítor Pereira’s team is ‘rubbing their hands’ as they hope to increase their earnings from his potential sale.
Jorge attributed his present market value to his strong performances and goals at Las Palmas.
Fábio’s contract with Wolves runs until 2026, and the club is considering selling him at the end of this season.
