Leeds United chairman reaction amid transfer success and Daniel James chat in moments missed
On Wednesday night, Leeds United easily defeated Norwich City 2-0 to reclaim the top spot in the Championship. Manor Solomon fired home within a minute, leaving the Canaries shell-shocked and unable to produce a shot on target. When Daniel James converted Solomon’s cross from the angle on the 65th minute, he ensured the points. With the win, United has now won ten Championship games. They will now focus on Monday, when they visit Turf Moor to play Burnley, a team vying for promotion. Here are three things that fans could have overlooked at the game on Wednesday.
Chipper leaders
Alongside club CEO Angus Kinnear, United chairman Paraag Marathe was seen at the game. Taking an opportunistic approach to the market, the two have been in constant communication with Daniel Farke over possible transfer opportunities this window. They observed as Solomon and Jayden Bogle, their summer acquisitions, performed admirably that evening. With the home team leading 2-0, the camera switched to Marathe and Kinnear, who were beaming and chatting.
James and Bogle converse
As they have done for the majority of this season, Bogle and James worked together on the right side of the field with ease during the game. Particularly in the first half, the duo caused Ben Chrisene and Emiliano Marcondes to retreat multiple times. With a 1-0 lead, the two were able to go down the touchline for a drink and have a little conversation about the situation after Brenden Aaronson was taken to the ground in the 17th minute and needed medical attention. Bogle then continued to play fast-paced balls forward, which gave United two chances to score. Perhaps we won’t know if that brief conversation had anything to do with it. However, Bogle and James share a bond that would be desirable for all other managers in the division.
