Reading FC capable of ‘more than just top six’ says forward

Even though Reading lost to Stockport County 3-1 on Saturday, returning injured striker Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan thinks the team can finish in “more than just the top six.”

After missing more than two months due to a hip injury he sustained in the 4-1 loss at Edgeley Park in the rematch against Stockport, the 21-year-old came off the bench for the last half of Saturday’s match.

Academy fan favorite Ehibhatiomhan has so far scored two goals in 13 League One games and 15 goals in 69 Royals outings.

After the Hatters’ loss on Saturday, which saw them move ahead of Reading into the play-off spots, the striker stated: “I think we are capable of more than just the top six, but we have to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and go again next Saturday.”

“It has been quite annoying. We’ve done the work, and I’m back on the field, but I’ve had to be patient and accept my injury.

“The boys have performed admirably. We are where we are because of our hard work, which has been a team effort. I hope that keeps up.
