Nottingham Forest, Liverpool and Aston Villa mooted as possible landing spots for Roma star

No one has been added to the Reds’ roster as of yet. In the upcoming weeks, Chris Wood is expected to sign an extension as well, and Murillo has signed a new Forest contract.

Several players have been linked to Forest this month. It’s unclear if Evangelos Marinakis will be granted his wish, but he has made no secret of his desire to bolster the team with a striker before the window shuts.

This week, Matheus Cunha was connected to Forest. He would be a fantastic addition, but it also seems like Forest is investigating a number of players in the background.

Nottingham Forest mooted as possible destination for Niccolo Pisilli

The Daily Mail have produced an article on the wonderkids making waves in Serie A. Alongside the profiles, the publication has tipped possible destinations in the Premier League for the players.

Roma midfielder Niccolo Pisilli has been mooted with Forest, Liverpool or Aston Villa for the summer. It could take some persuading for the Rome-born star to leave but nonetheless the player looks talented.

Pisilli is enjoying his first proper season in the senior team with Roma. Last season he made three appearances but during 2024/25, he’s scored twice and claimed one assist from 22 appearances.

He’s made five appearances in the Europa League and at 20 he looks like one for the future. Pisilli has also been capped by the Italy national team, making his maiden appearance in October.

Forest unlikely to target midfielder this summer

The Reds have a plethora of midfielders currently at the club. Ryan Yates, Nicolas Dominguez, Elliot Anderson, Danilo and Ibrahim Sangare are all options for Nuno Espirito Santo at the moment.

They will all remain at Forest next season and that would surely make any move to sign Pisilli feel pretty unlikely as soon as the summer of 2025.

Forest might need a little bit more depth across the board should European football be secured. However, signing the Italian wonderkid does feel a little bit far-fetched.

The article from the Daily Mail is only very speculative and in our view, Pisilli would be a very ambitious signing for Forest, to say the least.
