Former Reading FC and Aston Villa youngster makes Greek move
Aaron Tshibola, a former Reading youth, has moved to the Greek Super League following a stint in Dubai.
The midfield player progressed through Berkshire’s ranks, making a total of 17 appearances. Due to his impressive play in the early months of 2015–16, newly relegated Aston Villa paid a reputed £5 million to bring him to Villa Park.
After ten games, three loan moves, and three years later, Tshibola relocated to Belgium in an attempt to revitalise his fledgling career, but he only made nine appearances for Waasland-Beveren.
Since 2019, the 30-year-old has played in Portugal, Scotland, Turkey, Cyprus and Dubai. Most recently, Tshibola joined Hatta in the UAE Pro League in 2023.
The DR Congo international, however, inked a contract with Lamia in Greece as of last week.
With just one victory in 19 games, Lamia is currently at the bottom of the division.
Six teams compete in a relegation play-off at the end of the season, six points behind the closest team.
His most productive stints were with Kilmarnock in Scotland, where he played 33 games in 2020–21 and 43 games between 2017 and 2019.
