Fabrizio Romano Shares Fresh Arsenal and Sesko Update After Contact Made
With Gabriel Jesus sidelined for the season due to an ACL injury sustained against Manchester United in the FA Cup, Arsenal executives are still looking to add a striker this January. Fabricio Romano has exclusively told GIVEMESPORT that the Gunners are still interested in Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig, despite the Germans’ insistence on keeping their star.
Due to Jesus’ poor play over the last 18 months, Kai Havertz has been Arsenal’s first-choice forward for the majority of the season. Just before Christmas, the Brazilian came roaring back, scoring five goals in two different games against Crystal Palace, giving everyone the impression that he had finally found his form at the Emirates Stadium. Mikel Arteta, however, has been forced back into the market due to a season-ending injury, and Sesko is a name that will not go away with Romano providing an update on his future.
The Slovenian has been discussed internally by Arsenal’s recruitment team, according to Romano, who spoke exclusively to GIVEMESPORT. The Gunners ‘had contact’ for his signature during the first half of the summer window.

However, Leipzig won’t let the player leave until the end of the season, and only a huge bid would tempt them to sell Sesko in the January transfer window as they look to secure Champions League football at the Red Bull Arena. Romano said: Arsenal were thought to be interested in the summer transfer window, with United and Chelsea also willing to pay the £55million release clause that Sesko had in his contract. However, signing a new deal with Leipzig meant that he continued his development as a key player in the Bundesliga – and they will have to go again this time around if they are to land their man.
