“He’s not going to get a look in” – Josh Koroma tipped for Huddersfield Town exit this month

“He’s not going to get a look in” – Josh Koroma tipped for Huddersfield Town exit this month

Josh Koroma, 26, is expected to struggle for regular playing time following the Terriers’ January transaction, and he

has been projected to leave Huddersfield Town this month.

Although he has been a great asset to Huddersfield since joining in the summer of 2019, the Sierra Leone

international’s contract expires at the end of the current campaign, and he has been deployed out of position

frequently this season.

When Mikel Miller hasn’t been available, Koroma has been deployed as a wingback. However, this month, they

strengthened their wingback lineup by acquiring Ruben Roosken from Heracles Almelo in the Netherlands.

The signs suggest that Koroma will leave John Smith’s Stadium this month, according to our Huddersfield Town fan

analyst, who also thinks the 26-year-old may be eager to go on.

Our Huddersfield Town supporter, Graham Rayner, was asked which player he believes will be eager to leave before

the transfer window ends, and he predicted that Koroma will make a push.

In an interview with Football League World, Graeme stated: “I think Josh Koroma would be one of the players that

would like to leave before February 3rd.

Because we’ve added a lot of strikers, he might believe that his future was elsewhere and that he won’t have a chance

to play.

“He’s not very good or not very effective from the left wingback role he’s been used since the injury to Mikel Miller,

and with Miller and the new signing Ruben Roosken being brought in from the Netherlands, he’s not going to get a

look in there either.

“I suspect if I was Josh Koroma I’d be thinking ‘is there somewhere else I can ply my trade’, so perhaps he’d be

looking to get away. Whether that’s on loan or sale I don’t know, but I expect a sale and if it gets him off the wage bill

alone, then that’s not bad either.”

Huddersfield Town may be forced to sell Josh Koroma this month

Koroma’s contract is slated to expire in the summer, so it could make sense to sell him this month to guarantee they

receive payment.

Michael Duff is in a tough spot since Koroma has occasionally displayed his class this season. Despite being utilised

out of position a lot, he has nevertheless scored six goals and provided two assists across all competitions thus far.

Josh Koroma’s 2024/25 League One season—Fotmob
Appearances 21
Goals 5
Assists 2
Shots 53
Shots on target 17
Chances created 24
Dribble success 46.9%
Pass accuracy 70.7%
Cross accuracy 26.3%
Duels won 38.0%

Nevertheless, almost all of these occurred early in the season when he was employed as a striker, and it’s unclear

where he fits in given the Terriers’ acquisition of players like Joe Taylor and Dion Charles this month.

Although Koroma might still be a great asset to Huddersfield if used properly, he may be eager to finish his five-and-

a-half-year spell at The John Smith’s Stadium soon given his contract situation and some of the players signed this

month.
