Southampton manager Ivan Juric has been speaking to BBC Match of the Day after today’s loss: “In We weren’t competitive in the first half, so that’s what occurred. We scored because we played with passion and vigour. We have to score that way.

“I didn’t talk to them during halftime. Although we are a competitive team, we are not competitive if we are behind by 10%. I pray that today’s first half never occurs again. It’s absurd that they score the first two goals.

“We fight and score twice in the second half. Another one was saved by Aina. We played well in the second half of today’s 80-minute match against Manchester United. It is just unfortunate that we are not prepared for ninety minutes.”
