Two in hospital after ‘violent incident’ in city and Police cordon off city centre street

Two persons were rushed to the hospital following a “violent incident” in the city centre.

Police roped off a pedestrianised portion of London Street in Norwich, near Jarrolds department store, late on Sunday afternoon. Emergency services were also available on adjacent Gaol Hill.

The ambulance service stated that two ambulances, a paramedic car, and the East Anglian Air Ambulance were dispatched to Gaol Hill in Norwich this afternoon in response to reports of a violent incident.

“Two patients were transported to hospital for further assessment and care.”

Norfolk Police have been contacted for more information.
