Everton want to sell Beto for ‘£20m’ and sign replacement immediately – O’Rourke
According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Everton wants to get rid of Beto during the January transfer window in order to increase David Moyes’ purchase budget. Senior writer Pete O’Rourke stated that the Merseyside powerhouses are seeking “between £15 and £20 million to sell Beto” permanently in an interview with the most recent episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast. Despite being at Goodison Park since 2023, the 31-year-old has had difficulty contributing to the first squad.
This season, Beto has made 17 appearances for Everton in all competitions, contributing one assist and five goals. In order to give Moyes more money to reinvest elsewhere, Everton is trying to get go of some players who aren’t part of their plans, and Beto is one of those guys. Football Insider has learned from reliable sources that Torino has expressed interest in signing Beto, although the Italian team would rather bring him in on loan than pay for him up front.
Everton is prepared to let go of Beto.
Everton would prefer a permanent agreement over a loan since they will need to find a replacement for Beto if they are to let him go. If Beto were loaned out, the Merseyside giants would save money on his salary, but they wouldn’t receive a transfer fee to use to bolster the team.Moyes doesn’t want to let himself down up front, so he will only allow the Guinea-Bissau international to leave Goodison Park if he is assured of bringing in a successor. This season, Everton has had trouble with their attacking part of the game, which is something Moyes needs to fix. Everton has only managed 15 goals in 20 games this season, making Southampton the only team to score less goals than Moyes’ team.
