Blackburn Rovers set sights on Nottingham Forest man

Blackburn Rovers have asked about signing Nottingham Forest midfielder Lewis O’Brien, according to reporter Alan Nixon on his Patreon page.

Blackburn Rovers are interested in signing the Premier League player this month. Rovers have until the end of the January transfer window to complete any outstanding business.
O’Brien, 26, has spent the last year on loan at Los Angeles FC in the MLS. His parent club now faces a critical decision about his long-term future at The City Ground.

According to journalist Nixon’s last report on his condition on Patreon, Rovers have reignited their interest in him this winter. They attempted to sign him two years ago on deadline day, but the trade fell through.

John Eustace’s side is now in fifth place in the Championship table, and they are in the play-offs alongside Burnley, Sunderland, and West Brom as they seek promotion to the Premier League.

O’Brien might help Blackburn Rovers strengthen their midfield.

Nottingham Forest re-signed him in 2022 after their promotion to the Premier League, however he has yet to make an appearance for them.
He has made 17 appearances for the Reds across all competitions and has previously been loaned out to DC United and Middlesbrough.

The Colchester-born player was associated with Los Angeles FC on a temporary basis last July, and their General Manager, John Thorrington, stated on their website: “We are tremendously delighted to welcome Lewis to Los Angeles.

“He is a dynamic, versatile midfielder with characteristics that we know will add to an already strong midfield group and help us win titles. I’d also like to thank Nottingham Forest and their representative, Kevin Sharp, for their professionalism throughout the process.
