Isaac Price has elected to join West Bromwich Albion instead of Preston North End, and he will join the Baggies next week.
According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the 21-year-old will travel to the Hawthorns this month.
According to reports from yesterday, both West Brom and Preston were in talks to sign Price from Standard de Liege. It claimed that he would play this weekend and then travel to England on Monday.
Tavolieri now reports that Price has decided to join West Brom. He claims this is because Preston has withdrawn and ‘finished their transfer window.’ In other words, they will not be signing any more players this month, leaving Price free to join West Brom instead.
The final agreements between the Baggies and Standard de Liege are now being finalized. Price is scheduled to have a physical with West Brom on Monday. The midfielder has already accepted personal terms with the Championship club on a long-term deal.
Tavolieri provides no information about the transfer’s value. However, the story from yesterday stated that it would be €2-2.5 million.
That would result in a nice profit for Standard, who bought Price on a free transfer from Everton in July 2023.
