Genoa Sets Sights on Burnley’s Trésor as Top Target for Attack

Genoa are looking for reinforcements for their attacking line, with Burnley’s Mike Trésor emerging as the primary target. The Italian club has identified the 25-year-old Belgian forward as their top choice to bolster their offensive capabilities.

Trésor, who joined Burnley in 2023, has struggled to find consistent playing time in the Championship this season. The versatile attacker, capable of playing as a winger or center-forward, has made only a handful of appearances for Burnley, mostly in cup competitions.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Genoa’s interest in Trésor comes at a time when the player seems unsettled at Burnley. Reports suggest that his limited involvement may be due to more than just injury concerns, with some speculating that he’s unhappy playing in the Championship following Burnley’s relegation from the Premier League.

The coming week is expected to be crucial in determining the feasibility of the transfer. While Burnley is currently resistant to the idea of letting Trésor go, Genoa remains optimistic about their chances of securing the deal.

In addition to Trésor, Genoa has also expressed interest in Gianluca Prestianni, a promising 18-year-old talent from Benfica. However, Trésor remains the preferred option for the Italian side.

Genoa’s pursuit of Trésor aligns with their need to strengthen their attack, especially given the team’s struggles with long-term injuries this season. The Belgian’s ability to play multiple positions in the forward line makes him an attractive prospect for the Serie A club.
