According to Football Insider, Leeds United, Sunderland, Coventry City, and Swansea are all interested in Oxford United’s Tyler Goodrham. The 21-year-old attacking midfielder is regarded as one of the top emerging talents in the EFL, having impressed at Oxford in recent seasons. Leeds, Sunderland, Coventry, and Swansea are all keeping a close eye on Goodrham as they consider late-season signings. The Republic of Ireland international has been an important performer for Oxford this season. He has made 28 appearances, scoring seven goals and providing seven assists in all competitions.
Oxford face fight to keep Tyler Goodrham from Leeds and Swansea
Goodrham has been a key player for Oxford since graduating from the academy and emerging into the first squad. He had a breakout season during Oxford’s League One promotion-winning campaign last season, appearing in 51 games, scoring 10 goals and assisting five. This season, Goodrham has continued his strong play in the Championship, drawing the attention of several EFL clubs. A move to a team competing for promotion may be too tempting for the player to pass up.
Gary Rowett’s side are now 17th in the Championship, six points clear of the relegation zone. Losing Goodrham might be a huge blow to their survival chances. The club will have to adjust to life without their midfielder for the next three games after their appeal against his red card in the FA Cup encounter against Exeter was denied, which did not surprise ex-PGMOL chairman Keith Hackett. The hierarchy has backed Rowett with fresh January acquisitions such as Ole Romeny and Alex Matos. They are also in negotiations with Burnley about a potential trade for defender Hannes Delcroix.
