Three dead after car smashes into residential block

Emergency personnel discovered a burning automobile, and three occupants were pronounced dead at the site, despite the fact that the flames had been quenched.

According to Metropolitan Police, the incident occurred on Great Western Road in the early hours of this morning. Around 4.50 a.m., emergency personnel were rushed to the crash site, where they discovered the vehicle on fire.

The fire was doused, but three people were pronounced dead on the site. A witness who lives on the road told LBC that they witnessed a neighbour rush out to aid the individuals in the flaming car.

“It’s a shock – you don’t expect something like that to happen,” they told me. “There are no words.” It’ll be with us for a while.

Manuel Gaspar, who owns a cleaning company near the incident, told the Evening Standard that a man raced out with his shirt off to try to aid those in the car.

He said: “I saw a brave neighbour who had just woken up and didn’t have a shirt on.

“He was trying to enter the passenger door. “All the other doors were stuck or too damaged.”

Another person informed the newspaper that they witnessed the automobile “shoot past” while travelling fast across a bridge despite the gloomy weather conditions.

Police personnel are seeking to identify and notify the deceased’s families.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Unit have requested that any witnesses or individuals with dashcam footage come forward.

The incident is thought to have involved no other cars, and some residents were evacuated from the building as a precaution.

According to a London Fire Brigade spokesperson, firefighters responded to reports that a car had collided with a sheltered accommodation block.

When emergency crews arrived, the vehicle was on fire. “Crews extinguished the fire and guided nine people to safety from the building via an internal staircase.

“Three people in the vehicle were sadly pronounced dead at the scene.” Police officers have set up a cordon on either side of Great Western Road.

Six officers are on the scene, redirecting pedestrians and cars. The cordon at the junction of Harrow Road and Great Western Road is expected to be in place for several hours.
