The Alexander Isak mega deal that can change EVERYTHING at Newcastle United and Chelsea regret

Newcastle United could do a lot worse than get Alexander Isak to sign a new contract.

As they arrived to work on Friday morning, Newcastle United executives were undoubtedly aware of Erling

Haaland’s Manchester City huge deal.

The Norwegian international’s new nine-and-a-half-year contract not only gives City a significant boost as their title

ambitions dwindle, but also alters the prospective landscape of the Premier League. City will return next season, that

is certain.

However, Haaland’s ambition to become the Premier League’s all-time leading scorer is clear to see. One statistician

calculated that Haaland would only need 18 goals each season to break Alan Shearer’s record of 260.

His devotion sends a strong message to the football world, since not only is Man City’s position unaffected by a poor

season, but the Premier League’s title as the best league in the world appears to be intact. Whereas Serie A and La

Liga were traditionally considered the best leagues in Europe to play in, the Premier League has now added another

feather to its cap.

As the ink dries on Haaland’s contract over at the Etihad Stadium, it will get minds-boggling at St James’ Park on

Isak. City can boast of being one of the best strikers in the world, but Newcastle could very easily argue the same

thing with Isak.

Giving Isak a new, improved deal, on the other hand, would assist to put an end to speculation about a £150 million

January leave. Isak could be confident that his future would be on Tyneside, and that what was ahead for him could

be very wonderful.

With 52 goals for Newcastle, Isak broke one Premier League record this week by scoring in his eighth consecutive

game, passing Alan Shearer and Joe Willock in the process. Following his two-goal performance against the Wolves,

Isak is now within striking distance of becoming Newcastle’s second highest all-time Premier League scorer.

Chelsea ventured to test Newcastle’s commitment on Isak last June, but failed. Given their regret over letting Lewis

Hall and Tino Livramento leave for very little sums of money, it feels like an exciting time to be a Newcastle fan

again.

A team that includes Isak, Hall, Livramento, Bruno Guimaraes, Joelinton, Anthony Gordon, Sven Botman, and

Sandro Tonali is interesting enough. Adding class and quality with Isak leading the way is enough to make the Toon

Army dream of grandeur.

Whether it’s aspirational statements, commercial wealth, club records, Shearer’s records, or the number 9 legacy,

Isak has the potential to change everything on Tyneside.
