Mario Lemina, a former Southampton star, has come under fire from his Wolves manager for declining to play for the team. There are some things that never change.
It’s possible Southampton is currently experiencing a good deal of shame. The atmosphere at St. Mary’s Stadium isn’t great because they are at the bottom of the Premier League.
But, and this may sound strange to say, things might be worse. The majority of the players are still with the Saints despite their current situation. At least one good thing is that the dressing room environment doesn’t seem poisonous.
It could have been different, of course. From Southampton’s point of view, Mario Lemina’s position is safe to state that we got away with it.
Mario Lemina is presently having a tantrum at Wolves, in case you missed it. Even though he just has a few months left on his contract, he is refusing to participate. Vitor Pereira, the new Wolves manager, is naturally unhappy as a result.
Pereira recently blasted Mario Lemina in the press, saying he doesn’t want Lemina at Wolves due to his mindset. Pereira would rather work with a different player who is interested in wearing the shirt instead.
“I cannot bring a player who tells me he is not in the mental condition to help the team,” Pereira stated. I am unable to bring him because of this commitment.
The club must find a solution if a player approaches me and says, “I’m not in conditions mentally to help the team.”
“He wants to leave,” Pereira said when discussing Lemina’s future at Wolves. I don’t need him because I have this energy and this mindset, regardless of what happened before me. I would rather play with a different player.Southampton is not concerned about this. I can’t think of anything worse, so I’m not publishing these remarks in an attempt to get Southampton to sign him. Nonetheless, it’s intriguing to consider this from a Saints standpoint.
Lemina was a gifted player, but he never reached Southampton’s potential. There were numerous reasons for this, but they were all connected to his ego overriding his abilities.
Even though only Lemina and Pereira are aware of the specifics of his predicament, I’m going to venture a wild guess that Lemina has once again allowed his ego to get in the way. Otherwise, Pereira wouldn’t have exposed one of his players so quickly after joining Wolves.
