Progress in Southern California containment efforts as winds weaken
It is important to be aware of the flames in Los Angeles and the winds in California.
There have been at least 27 fatalities, more than 12,000 buildings burned, and more than 60 square miles of land burnt as a result of fires that have spread over the Los Angeles region.
At this very moment, the flames in Palisades and Eaton are still operating.
For the time being, the fiercest winds have slowed down, providing firefighters with a much-needed reprieve and reducing the severity of certain dangers.
The National Weather Service has predicted that hazardous weather would be present throughout the next week.
The authorities have said that tens of thousands of residents in Los Angeles County are still have to evacuate their homes.
The Palisades and Eaton fire zones continued to be subject to curfews from six o’clock at night to six o’clock in the morning.
Eaton’s containment is increased, and Palisades is fired up.
A greater number of the fires in Eaton and Palisades have been controlled, according to a statement sent by Cal Fire on Friday morning.
As of 6:45 a.m. local time, the Eaton Fire is 65% controlled. The Palisades Fire is 31% controlled.
It’s an increase from only hours before, when the Eaton Fire was 55% controlled and the Palisades Fire was 27% contained.
