Man dies and three injured after car overturns on M4

A man died and three others were injured when a car overturned on the M4 motorway.

The road was blocked in both directions on Sunday as police dealt with an incident on the eastbound carriageway at the Cranford Park interchange in west London at 11.39 a.m.

A Metropolitan Police official stated that one man, thought to be in his twenties, died on the spot, while two other males were brought to the hospital with “life-threatening injuries.” A fourth patient was treated for minor injuries before being sent to the hospital.

A social media post showed an automobile on fire along the side of the highway as someone attempted to extinguish the flames with a fire extinguisher. Another post shows firefighters dealing with the car after the fire was extinguished.

According to a representative for the Metropolitan Police, officers are looking for witnesses and any dashcam footage from a deadly collision on the M4 in west London.

“At 11.39 a.m. on Sunday, October 29, cops responded to reports of an overturned car on the eastbound M4 at the Cranford Park interchange.

“Emergency services responded, and four persons were found injured, all of whom were in the Mercedes.

“A man believed to be in his 20s died at the site. He was a passenger in the back of the automobile. We are in the process of notifying his next of kin.

“Two other men, believed to be in their twenties, were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.” A fourth person was treated on the scene for minor injuries before being transported to a hospital.

“Officers from the Met’s roads and transport policing command are carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances.”
