Ipswich Town receive 4 permanent bids to sell versatile forward in January
On Wednesday evening, Kieran McKenna and the Tractor Boys signed their second winter window, with Jaden Philogene joining Ben Godfrey at Portman Road.
The Premier League winger has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with the club after leaving Aston Villa.
After completing his move, Philogene stated, “I’m excited to be here, and I know there are great players in the squad.” I simply want to play as much as possible. As a player, I enjoy dribbling, linking up play, and providing goals and assists. “I am looking forward to it.”
McKenna has intimated that the focus would now be on outgoings, with full-back Harry Clarke perhaps leaving on loan.”It’s possible that Harry Clarke will move on loan. I and Harry have had those chats. He’s a vital guy for us and a great player. He played through an injury near the end of last season and had major surgery in the summer, so he lost a few months of playing.
“He has now played some minutes in the Premier League and gained some exposure. However, given his age and status as a young defender, it is critical that he receives minutes on a regular basis in order to improve and fulfill his position at the club. If everything in the team is in order in terms of availability over the next week or two, Harry may be loaned out to gain some regular playing experience and continue his development.”
However, some players who are still on the Portman Road roster may be released permanently.Middlesbrough’s proposal for loanee George Edmundson has been turned down, with Ipswich willing to sell at the right price with the defender out of contract this summer.
Another Ipswich Town player is wanted in a permanent January transfer window exit after impressing on loan. According to The 17, four teams have made permanent approaches for Ipswich Town attacker Osman Foyo.
The 20-year-old has been catching the eye on loan at Chelmsford City in the National League South, which has piqued the interest of League One club Crawley Town as well as League Two clubs AFC Wimbledon, Port Vale, and Colchester United.
