ENGLEWOOD, Colorado (AP) The Denver Broncos have fired special teams coordinator Ben Kotwica, who improved a mediocre unit during his two years on Sean Payton’s staff, only to have his tenure marred by a breakdown in Week 10 that cost the team a crucial victory in Kansas City. Since his debut in 2023, Kotwica has been widely credited with making Denver’s special teams one of the strongest in the league. But what loomed large over the final two months of the 2024 season was the blocked field goal with time running out that preserved the Chiefs’ 16-14 victory over Denver at Arrowhead Stadium on November 10.
