Breaking: Birmingham City CEO Garry Cook steps down for ‘personal reasons’
Garry Cook has stepped down from his role as Birmingham City’s chief executive
Garry Cook has resigned as chief executive of Birmingham City for personal reasons, the team stated.
Former Manchester City CEO Cook has been in the position since the club was acquired by American investment
firm Knighthead Capital Management in July 2023.Cook’s duties will be temporarily taken over by Jeremy Dale, who
mediated Knighthead’s takeover agreement.
According to a statement issued by the club, the Board has accepted Garry’s decision, which he made for personal
reasons, but they are pleased to confirm that he has agreed to continue serving on the advisory committee.
Additionally, he will remain a trustee of the Birmingham City Foundation, guaranteeing that the organisation will
continue to gain from his experience and dedication to furthering its goals. The team is incredibly appreciative of
Garry’s leadership and many accomplishments, which include improving the club’s facilities and creating a
welcoming environment for supporters and coworkers.”

Knighthead Tom Wagner. He has made several contributions to the club he has supported since he was a young lad,
and his dedication and passionate leadership have never wavered.
