£100k-a-week star would be open to joining Leeds United on loan in January
The 31-year-old defender, who is thought to be worth an incredible £100,000 per week, is currently in the last six months of his Tottenham deal.Despite his injuries, Davies was a contender to play against Arsenal. Davies had previously been linked to Leeds. Given Davies’ contract status with Ange Postecoglou’s team, Leeds is reportedly “pushing hard” to sign him this month with a “cut-price deal” on the horizon. If Davies were to join, he would join Karl Darlow, Ethan Ampadu, Joe Rodon, Dan James, and Charlie Crew, who just joined Doncaster on loan, as the sixth Wales international on the roster at Elland Road.
Ben Jacobs discusses Tottenham player Ben Davies’ position over a move.
Landing Davies would be a coup. A guy who has around 350 Tottenham appearances under his belt and is only eight games away from earning his 100th Wales cap. Davies is capable of playing both left and center back. However, a deal is far from finalized because Leeds is still in the Championship and Davies is expected to draw a lot of attention going forward. However, Ben Jacobs stated on The View podcast that Davies would be amenable to a transfer. Similar to Buendia, Davies is open to joining Leeds and temporarily relocating to the Championship. However, he is aware that Premier League clubs will be interested if he departs on a free.
Brennan Johnson’s remarks regarding Ben Davies of Tottenham
Davies would rejoin with one of his closest friends in the football world and join five of his Wales colleagues if he moved to Elland Road. Davies was a teammate of Joe Rodon at Wales and Tottenham. However, Brendan Johnson, a Wales international for Tottenham, once remarked that he had never saw Davies play poorly, saying, “He can adapt.” He is really strong. His character has never played poorly. Leeds will require left-back cover with Junior Firpo playing a position similar to Davies’, especially because Sam Byram is only on a one-year contract at Elland Road. To make a deal, Leeds could have to get promoted.
