Belgian giants Club Brugge and Genk locked horns at the Jan Breydel Stadium for their Belgian Cup semifinal clash on Wednesday. Historically, Brugge have always been the bigger side, as they have the highest number of titles in Belgium.
Both teams had Nigerian played heading into the game, with Arokodare leading the line for the Smurfs, while Raphael Onyedika featured in defence for Club Brugge.
Genk dominated the first half and created the better chances. Eventually, Arokodare scored the opener for them in the 28th minute. The Nigerian striker showed his great striker’s instinct to latch onto a cross from Jarne Steuckers and placed a clean finish into the bottom-right corner to make it 1-0.
