A France Under-18 player signs a contract through June 2029 and joins the Saints as their second January arrival.
After Brazilian left-back Welington, the 18-year-old French centre-back has signed a contract with Southampton
through June 2029, making him the club’s second January transfer window addition.
“I’m really happy to be here,” Sanda stated in an interview with the club’s official website. This is a fantastic club and
city, in my opinion. I am honoured to represent this club, and I have received a really warm welcome.
“I didn’t anticipate it happening so soon, but it was a professional objective I had in the back of my mind and I was
able to accomplish it early on. I came here because of the club’s commitment to developing young players and the
initiative as a whole.”
After playing 37 games for Valenciennes over the previous two seasons, he advanced to the Under-19 level after
leading France to the final of the 2023 FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Indonesia.
Southampton is at the bottom of the Premier League standings with just six points from 20 games. They have given
up 44 goals, which is the second-highest number after Wolverhampton Wanderers.
