COMMUNITY MANAGER DAVE EVANS RECEIVES PFA MEMENTO AWARD

COMMUNITY MANAGER DAVE EVANS RECEIVES PFA MEMENTO AWARDLONG-STANDING COMMUNITY MEMBER HONOURED

Dave Evans, the manager of the Reading FC Community Trust, was given the PFA Memento Award in recognition of

his exceptional and ongoing service to the community.

Along with Dave’s family and coworkers, the club was thrilled to have PFA CEO Maheta Molango and other

important organisation members give the award to Dave during Saturday’s FA Cup match against Burnley.

The PFA Memento Award honours people who have been outstanding PFA Advocates during this time, have long-

standing service, and have made outstanding contributions to the community.

Dave began his involvement with community service at football clubs 28 years ago when he joined the Wycombe

Wanderers Foundation. with November 2010, he moved to Reading FC Community Trust to assume the position of

Manager.

He continues to advocate for the excellent work he and his staff are doing around the local area in important areas

like disability, sports participation, social inclusion, and much more. He has continuously shown himself to be an

important liaison between the club and its charitable arm.

You may read Dave’s thoughts on his well-earned prize by scrolling down, or you can read an in-depth feature

interview with him at the top of this page.

About the award, Dave said, “I am just as excited today as I was when I first started as a Community Trust Manager

almost 28 years ago. The work, results, and people the Community Trust works with to address a number of social

and national issues are not just focused on young people but also adults and under-represented groups in our

society.”

The biggest achievement I get from the role is the ability to be able to help and support people through the brand and

status of Reading FC. It is very easy to under estimate how powerful, inspirational and motivational the Football

Club can be to vulnerable individuals, whether that is helping to increase their self-worth, motivation or lifestyle.

With the help of an amazing workforce that is all driven to support and assist children and individuals in the local and surrounding regions, this is made easier. Support from the team and its players, as well as from our supporters,

stakeholders, and sponsors, is crucial, and this has been amply demonstrated in these uncertain times.

I hope the Trust can carry on serving the community, representing Reading FC for another 28 years, and help to

improve and strengthen community links, ensuring both the Community Trust and the football club have local

communities central to all its aims and objectives.”

The PFA’s CEO, Maheta Molango, said, “Dave deserves our PFA Memento Award. He has 28 years of exceptional

community work under his belt, both at Reading and at Wycombe Wanderers before that.

During this time, he has been an excellent PFA advocate, consistently supporting our players and members. It was

great to acknowledge Dave’s accomplishments in full with his family, trustees, club employees, and our community

team.

Everyone associated with the club would like to congratulate Dave and express gratitude for his many years of community service.
