Celtic leave it late to take a point from six-goal thriller at Dens Park
Dundee came from behind twice and took a late lead before Arne Engels equalised from the spot in injury-time.
Celtic scored an injury-time equaliser from the penalty spot to take a point against Dundee in a six-goal thriller at Dens Park.
The home side had come from behind twice before taking a late lead into the 90th minute but the Hoops fought back and got themselves level in the dying minutes.
Luke McCowan opened the scoring against his former club just five minutes in before Oluwaseun Adewumi equalised at the end of the first-half.
Yang restored Celtic’s lead after the break but Dundee got themselves level again just a minute later when Josh Mulligan’s shot deflected off Cameron Carter-Vickers and into the net.
Aaron Donnelly then headed Tony Docherty’s men into the lead late in the second-half.
They so-nearly held out for their first victory against Celtic in over 20 years but the Hoops were awarded a stoppage-time penalty that was converted by Arne Engels.
Celtic took an early lead when McCowan headed a Greg Taylor cross past Trevor Carson to put the visitors 1-0 up.
The Hoops came close to doubling their lead on a couple of occasions and Adam Idah will feel he should have converted after being played in by Kyogo.
Paulo Bernardo then had a header come off the crossbar midway through the half.
Dundee’s first goal came from a quick counter-attack after a Celtic corner when they broke up the park and Fin Robertson played Adewumi in and he converted it past Schmeichel to make it 1-1.
Celtic started the second-half quickly and they found themselves 2-1 in front when Kyogo darted down the wing and put a low cross into the box for Idah who got a touch before Yang headed it.
However, just a minute later Dundee burst up the park again and Mulligan found himself in the box before trying a shot that hit off Carter-Vickers’ foot and into his own net to draw the home side level at 2-2.
And with just 12 minutes remaining they got themselves in-front for the first time when Donnelly rose highest at the back-post to head a corner past Schmeichel and make it 3-2.
Celtic pushed for an equaliser as they tried to salvage a point from the game and Engels tried his luck with a volley after good play by Luis Palma on the left, but the shot was well wide of the target.
Just as it looked as though Dundee had done enough to take a famous win Nicolas Kuhn put a cross into the box that came off the hand of a defender and the referee pointed to the spot.
