Blackburn Rovers has made a bid to Coventry City for Brandon Thomas-Asante.
Sky Sports (10.14) reports that Lancashire have made a £1.75 million approach to recruit the forward in January.
The 26-year-old joined the Sky Blues from West Brom last summer and has been a consistent performer this season.
Thomas-Asante has had 25 Championship appearances, but only eight starts, with one goal and one assist.

Blackburn make Thomas-Asante offer
In January, Blackburn made a permanent bid for Thomas-Asante.
John Eustace aims to improve his attacking options as the club competes for a play-off spot.
An initial bid of £1.75 million has been made to their Championship rivals, who just signed Thomas-Asante last August.
Thomas-Asante has struggled to get consistent playing time since Frank Lampard took over as manager in late November.
The Ghana international has only made one league start under the new Coventry manager, a 2-1 loss to Norwich City earlier this month.
It remains to be seen whether £1.75 million will be enough to persuade the Sky Blues to cash in, given Thomas-Asante has a contract until 2028.
Blackburn have been connected with re-signing Ben Brereton Diaz this month, but the Daily Mail reports that he prefers to return to Sheffield United instead.
Blackburn Rovers’ recent form
Blackburn are presently seventh in the Championship table, with a game in hand on their top six opponents.
Eustace’s team will meet Portsmouth on Wednesday evening to make up the extra fixture, and a win will bring them up to fifth place.
Rovers, on the other hand, have won none of their past five league games, with their most recent triumph coming against Luton Town back in December.
This evening, Blackburn will host Portsmouth at 7.45 p.m.
It’s not working for Thomas-Asante at Coventry
Thomas-Asante showed promise at West Brom during his two seasons, netting 18 goals in 72 Championship matches.
But it hasn’t worked out for him at Coventry, and they may believe that cashing in for £1.75 million is the best option depending on Lampard’s future plans for the first team squad.
The forward is clearly down the pecking order at the CBS Arena, so Blackburn will aim to take advantage.
This could be a wise move, as his addition would give solid depth to Eustace’s offensive options as they pursue a top-six finish.
