Vakhtang Salia sends 15-word message to Newcastle United fans after agreeing a move

In recent months, Newcastle’s new transfer plan has been implemented by Sporting director Paul Mitchell, and Salia was among the first players to sign with the Magpies after his arrival.Instead of focusing on players joining locally for high fees, Mitchell has directed scouts to search for young players abroad in the hopes that Howe and company can develop them. This is a far more cost-effective approach. The 17-year-old will stay at Dinamo Tbilisi until he formally registers with Newcastle on his 18th birthday in August, despite Salia’s September agreement to come to Newcastle.

Staff at Newcastle have given Salia excellent praise despite his youth. The striker made two appearances and scored one goal during the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifications. Howe and Newcastle’s managers will feel much more confident that Mitchell can do his magic in the transfer market because Newcastle beat out other clubs to sign Salia. Salia had his first interview with the club on Monday after being given a tour of St. James’ Park and the training facility.

Newcastle supporters’ message from Vakhtang Salia

Salia is not the only teenage striker joining the team in 2025; later in January, Irishman Kyle Fitzgerald will turn 18 and join Newcastle. In an interview with NUFCTV, Salia was asked to provide a message to the Newcastle supporters who are anxiously anticipating his arrival before he joins the team in the summer. “Yes, you can trust me,” he said. I’ll put forth twice as much effort to get here. In addition, the 17-year-old was asked about his feelings after touring St. James’ Park. It was incredible, and I believe that playing there is a dream come true for everyone.

I was asked by my father whose team I wanted to score my first goal for. It was incredible. In Newcastle’s history, Salia will only be the third Georgian national to join with the team. Temur Ketsbaia and Zurab Khizanishvili were the only players to play for the team before him. “I’ve never met him, but I hope I will meet him soon,” the Georgian responded when asked if he had spoken to Ketsbaia before to moving. In the video, Salia was given a tour by Shola Ameobi, met Fabian Schar, and was welcomed by Howe and Mitchell.

Newcastle wants to add additional strikers to its roster.

Although players like Salia and Fitzgerald are undoubtedly future additions, Newcastle wants to bolster their present offensive line in January. Despite Alexander Isak’s outstanding play this season, Newcastle’s first team lacks any long-term options save William Osula. Stefanos Tzimas is being watched by the Magpies, but teams from all over England, including Brighton and Chelsea, are interested in the Greek player. In other news, Newcastle fell to Aston Villa in the competition for Donyell Malen, a forward for Borussia Dortmund.
