According to latest rumours, Stoke City are interested in signing highly rated Tottenham Hotspur teenager Tyrese Hall on loan this month.
Hall is a central midfielder by trade, although he has also played in a deeper role for Spurs after joining the club’s academy from Premier League rival Chelsea.
The 19-year-old has yet to play professional football in his short career, but he has impressed in Spurs’ junior divisions at under-18 and Premier League 2 levels, and he was called up to Ange Postecoglou’s first-team squad once last year, against Manchester City in May.
Stoke City are tracking Tyrese Hall to potentially bolster their midfield ranks.
According to transfer journalist Darren Witcoop, via X, Hall is attracting loan offers and might leave Tottenham this month, while the Potters are said to have the 19-year-old on their radar for a move in the coming weeks.
Stoke have yet to recruit any players in the January transfer window, since new manager Mark Robins was just officially appointed on New Year’s Day.
Robins has moved to recall both Lewis Baker and Nathan Lowe from loan spells at Blackburn Rovers and Walsall, but Stoke’s January business is expected to take place closer to the deadline due to their struggles with profit and sustainability (PSR) and financial fair play (FFP) regulations.
The Potters presently have only one loan place available in their squad, according to EFL rules, but they already have a working relationship with Spurs, with centre-back Ashley Phillips impressing on a season-long loan from the Lilywhites.
This month, the Potters do not make central midfield their emphasis.
Stoke are in desperate need of new players to boost their squad, but any additions are likely to come in wide forward and striker positions this month, rather than in the middle of the park, where Robins is already well-stocked.
Wouter Burger, Tatsuki Seko, Andrew Moran, and Lewis Baker are the Potters’ current fit midfield options, while Sol Sidibe and Jordan Thompson are on the fringes of the squad, and both Bosun Lawal and Ben Pearson are recovering from long-term injuries.
Having said that, it appears unlikely that they will use a premium loan space on a midfielder, especially an inexperienced teenager like Spurs’ Hall.

Given the injuries to Million Manhoef and Eric Bocat, their January focus is much more likely to be on recruiting wingers and a left-back, while Tom Cannon’s Leicester recall status may dictate a number of transfers later in the window.
Stoke are presently 19th in the second division, just four points above relegation, so they will undoubtedly need to make some additions soon, but Hall might be a potential addition that comes closer to the deadline, when other transactions have already occurred.
