The Canaries have made an inquiry for the 22-year-old, according to Darren Witcoop, who reported on X.
Ephron Mason-Clark and Ronnie Edwards both flourished at Weston Homes Stadium last season, demonstrating how Posh has been able to produce some outstanding players in recent years.
Although both players have since moved on, Kwame Poku and other quality players are still worth watching for Darren Ferguson’s team.
Jones, who made some respectable contributions in the season’s last third, is another player who has just become a true star.
The goals have dried up recently, but in fairness to the striker, his team have struggled in recent weeks and this may have been a contributing factor.
He has also played a considerable number of games so far this season.
Registering 31 appearances just halfway through the campaign, it was inevitable that he was going to have a dry spell.
Norwich City among teams keen on Ricky-Jade Jones
According to Witcoop, Norwich has contacted Peterborough to inquire about Jones’ availability in anticipation of a possible January window raid.
The Canaries’ league rivals, Cardiff City, thought it would be a good idea to bid for the 22-year-old as his contract was about to expire in the summer, but their most recent offer was turned down.
That might make it possible for Norwich to sign the forward, but Johannes Hoff Thorup’s team will have a difficult time doing so because other international teams are showing interest in him.
Norwich City could benefit from shrewd Ricky-Jade Jones move
The Canaries would likely gain from investing in Jones because he is still only 22 years old and will only become better.
Even though Josh Sargent is still with the team, Ante Crnac has joined, and Borja Sainz is playing well this season, it’s still reasonable to argue that Norwich has lost some of their attacking talent in recent years.
Along with Abu Kamara, who would have been a true asset in the long run, Gabriel Sara, Adam Idah, and Christos Tzolis departed in the summer.
In light of this, they ought to try to get Jones, who has performed incredibly well at Peterborough this season and would be highly motivated to succeed if he moved up to the Championship.
Norwich may approach July if they are unable to sign Jones during this window.
