Match day Parking Norwich and District Lions Club

Match day Parking Norwich and District Lions Club

Even though this post is more fan-related than football-related, I hope to hear from other supporters who, after being disappointed by today’s outcome, went back to their cars after parking in one of the specially designated Norwich and District Lions Club parking lots on Thorpe Road only to discover that they had been fined £60 by NTC (Norwich Traffic Control) for parking at Graphic House 120 Thorpe Road without a valid permit.

We have parked there without any problems for a number of years, and Lions Club has been operating this match day parking lot for many years.

We can only assume that the issue of these fines is a mistake or Norwich Lions no longer have permission to run this site to raise charitable funds.

There were around 20 or so vehicles with penalty charge notices issued.

A worse case scenario, according to a neighbour with legal training, is that the car owners will have to pay NTC and, regrettably, file a small claims lawsuit against Lions Club because there is a service agreement in place for the payment of the parking fee.

Since it is obvious that no one intended to violate any parking rules, I would prefer not to pursue a charitable organisation and hope that perhaps all parties impacted by the TNC penalty fee could band together to take the matter to TNC.
