‘It’s a big relief’ – Norwich City complete permanent signing of midfielder from Sheffield United

The midfielder joined the Blades from Brondby in the summer of 2023 but suffered relegation from the Premier League in his debut season in England.

In August, he was loaned to Norwich, with the Canaries having the option to make the deal permanent if certain requirements were met.

Norwich has exercised their option to permanently hire the 23-year-old after he has shown himself to be a hit at Carrow Road.

“It’s a huge relief,” he said. The first six months at the club have been a lot of fun. The coaching and my teammates have been excellent.

“From day one, I simply felt at home. It’s a huge comfort to be able to call myself a permanent Norwich player now, and I’m thrilled and glad to continue.”

“We’ve been really pleased with Anis’ impact since his arrival on loan in the summer,” said Ben Knapper, sporting director at Norwich.

“He’s a terrific age, has adapted to our surroundings with ease, and has performed admirably since joining us. He fits in nicely with our preferred style of play, and we are glad to have him on board long-term.

“He has quickly established himself as a key figure amongst our group and we’re looking forward to getting him back as soon as we can to help us achieve our goals in the future.”

Sheffield United is now in third place in the Championship table, while Norwich is in eleventh place.
