A highly sort-after defender could sign for Aston Villa in the next 24 hours despite interest from Liverpool.
Yasin Ozcan, a defender for Kasimpasa, is reportedly on the verge of joining Aston Villa after reaching a comprehensive agreement with the player and the club.
Along with Fenerbahce, Besiktas, and Galatasaray, three of the top Turkish clubs, Villa has been monitoring Ozcan. Liverpool, another Premier League team, was said to have shown a lot of interest during the summer transfer window, but no deal ever came through.
Although Ozcan is mostly a left-sided center-half, he can also play left-back, which might provide Unai Emery a lot of versatility in the future. Despite his young age, the 18-year-old has been a staple for Kasimpasa, making 37 appearances in the Turkish Super Lig last season and another 18 so far this year.
Aston Villa working on three additional defender transfers The Villans aren’t done in the defensive transfer market with another two potential incomings and one outgoing still possible before the deadline on January 31.
