Aston Villa manager Unai Emery aims “two or three” more January transactions, breaking his silence on the Donyell Malen transfer.

Ahead of Wednesday night’s Premier League match between Aston Villa and Everton, Unai Emery was questioned about his transfer situation.
In order to create room in Unai Emery’s roster for additions during this winter transfer window, Aston Villa is negotiating a number of trades.

Jaden Philogene is going to Ipswich for a comparable price, while Donyell Malen is anticipated to join the team soon in a move worth about £20 million with add-ons. Villa wants to loan out Kosta Nedeljkovic but is also looking to add a right-back.

During his press conference on Tuesday, Emery stated, “The most important thing is that we are playing tomorrow,” However, we are attempting to make some moves during the transfer window. The potential to sign Malen is one of such moves. We will have to let go of one player, Jaden [Philogene], if Malen signs with us.Naturally, some players may wish to leave us for other reasons, but we are vigilant and want to constantly be prepared to develop the team with the players. As I am telling you, we are proceeding with certain situations from today until the window’s last day.

“Malen and Jaden should be the first players we switch. We could negotiate another deal where some players join us and some leave, maybe with two or three additional players.”

On Monday, February 3, Villa will play six games in all competitions before the Premier League clubs’ winter window ends.
