Turkish media reports that Watford are interested in signing Besiktas goalkeeper Ersin Destanoğlu during the current transfer window.

The 24-year-old has struggled to get games with the this season and could look to move on before the transfer deadline.

Hurriyet reports on Watford’s pursuit of the former Turkey U21 international, claiming the Championship side has made an offer for the goalkeeper.

According to reports, the Hornets intend to loan Destanoğlu until the end of the season and then sign him permanently in the summer. The transfer price proposed to retain his services on a permanent basis is allegedly €1.5m.

According to a Turkish media outlet, Watford and Besiktas will continue to hold transfer talks as both clubs seek to reach an agreement on the player. The contract duration offered by the English team to Destanoğlu has not been published.

Destanoğlu has only appeared once in the Super Lig this season, but has played in two Europa League group matches for Besiktas. His contract with the Black Eagles runs until June 2026.
