A representative for the North East Ambulance Service stated, “We were called to a road traffic collision today (8 December) at 9:48am at Wessington Retail Park on Castellian Road in Sunderland.”

“We sent one ambulance team and one Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) to the scene. “One patient was transferred to Sunderland Royal Hospital.”
