Röhl: “I saw a strong away performance.”

Danny Röhl praised the Owls’ “strong away performance” in their Emirates FA Cup match against Coventry, but the

manager was ultimately let down as his team was eliminated at the first hurdle.

After 120 minutes of play ended in a 1-1 draw, the match was settled by a penalty shootout, with the home team

winning 4-3.

The Wednesday manager believed that if his players had seized their chances, they may have ended the match before

the penalty kicks.

We put a lot of money into the game, so it’s unfortunate when you don’t make it through,” Röhl remarked.

Overall, we had a strong away performance, but we still need to work on our final play.

It is difficult to accept when we are presented with favourable opportunities in front of the rival goal.

“We dominated the game overall, while the opposition had some strong points.

“We played for 120 minutes without losing our framework or giving up. We manufactured risky circumstances and

were constantly in the game.

“We need to do better since we had a lot of situations in front of the goal.

“There has been a significant improvement between both boxes, and I witnessed a strong away performance when

compared to our performance last season.”
