Player ‘very close’ to leaving Celtic – Brendan Rodgers’ side agree deal, medical on the way

We reported on Spanish reports four days ago that Rayo Vallecano had made a deal with Luis Palma of Celtic and was attempting to sign a contract with Brendan Rodgers’ team. According to a recent rumor from Estadio Deportivo, the winger’s transfer to the La Liga team is now in the “final phase.”

In the winter transfer window, a recent development on Sunday puts the Celtic player “very close” to Rayo Vallecano. The 24-year-old’s loan deal has “already closed the agreement” between Celtic and the Spanish team, and the two teams are currently finalizing the specifics.

At the end of this season, Rayo Vallecano of Estadio State will also have the opportunity to purchase the Honduran international for €2.5 million. In order to complete the transfer procedures, including medical examinations with the Spanish club, Palma will travel to Spain this week, they add. Palma wants to leave Celtic Park in January and is now close to joining Rayo Vallecano after Brendan Rodgers only allowed him to make one league start at Celtic this season.
