Police are looking for witnesses in a deadly collision on the M6 northbound involving a pedestrian.
A man, an Audi A8, and two Scania HGVs were involved in the incident, which occurred between Junction 27 (Standish) and Junction 28 (Leyland) in the Hunger Hill region shortly after 3 p.m. yesterday.
The portion of road was closed for much of the evening while an investigation was conducted.
Despite the best efforts of rescue personnel, the pedestrian, a guy in his 30s, was declared dead on the site.
Sgt Laura Kendall stated, “A man has tragically died as a result of this collision, and our sympathies are with his family ones at this difficult time.
“The motorway was stopped for a long period of time, and I would like to thank individuals who waited patiently while our officials conducted their investigations.
“We know the motorway network will have been busy at that time, so if you witnessed the incident, or if you have dashcam footage between J27 and J28, between 2:45pm and 3:05pm, please do get in touch with us.”
