Norwich City Women: Andy Cook praises players after Ashford Town rout.
Andy Cook lauded his players for their efforts since the turn of the year as Norwich City rose to fourth in the Women’s National League Division One South East with victory over Ashford Town.
The Canaries scored six goals against Ashford earlier this season and added one more at The Nest, with four different individuals scoring. Natasha Snelling scored four goals this season, bringing her total to 12, while Freya Symonds, Holly Kennard, and substitute Shannon Shaw all contributed. City is now six points behind leaders Chatham Town, having started 2025 with two wins from two games. “That performance was built in the last two weeks’ work,” Cook informed us. “They’ve been fantastic since returning from the break, and we’re focused on what we need to achieve right now.
“I think that was the most comprehensive effort we’ve had all season. From the first minute to the last, I thought we were magnificent. We had to fight and battle at times, but we could also play, with runners in behind and obviously goals, so today had everything we wanted. “And another clean sheet, bringing the total to 11 for the season and six in the league. We are also pleased with that.”
