Huddersfield Town owner Kevin Nagle speaks out on sealing Joe Taylor transfer from Luton Town
New boy Joe Taylor could make his Huddersfield Town debut against Blackpool
The owner of Huddersfield Town, Kevin Nagle, has expressed his delight in landing Joe Taylor. The striker joined the
Terriers on Friday after completing his transfer from Championship underdogs Luton Town to John Smith’s
Stadium for an unknown amount.
Since they were unable to recruit Taylor last summer, Town’s persistence has now paid off. Nagle responded over the
weekend on the social media site X, writing: “We’re thrilled to have signed a new striker so early in the January
transfer window, especially one that we’ve had our eye on for a long time!
“Huge thanks and congratulations to Mark (Cartwright, sporting director), especially on getting this deal done, also
Jake (Edwards, chief executive) and his whole team at the Club as well.”
After Dutch wing back Ruben Roosken, Taylor is Town’s second acquisition of the window. When Michael Duff’s
team visits Blackpool on Saturday, the 22-year-old might make his debut.
Nagle went on, “Thank you for your kind words, Town fans,” “This second half of the season excites me just as much
as it does you! I am aware that the squad and Michael (Duff) desire to continue this run. “UTT!!!”
Taylor had two productive loan stints at Lincoln City in League One and Colchester United in League Two. Duff,
whose team is currently fourth in the standings and four points outside of the automatic promotion spots, stated,
“The way he finished last season on loan with Lincoln City at this level right at the top of the league speaks to his
character and will to succeed, and those are values we want to see in our players – you can never have too many
winners in your group.”
