HAVE YOUR SAY OVER FUTURE OF PUBLIC TRANSPORT AT HUDDERSFIELD TOWN HALL EVENT

This week, a consultation event is taking place in Huddersfield to gather opinions on public transport in West Yorkshire.

In the upcoming years, West Yorkshire’s bus service will once again be run by the public. West Yorkshire Mayor Tracey Brabin will operate and franchise the network. The county also plans to implement a mass transit system.

A series of Talking Transport events is being held by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority to give people a voice in the future.

The first one will be on Thursday January 16 (3pm-5pm) at Huddersfield Town Hall.

People who attend the meetings will be able to ask questions and share their own experiences.

There will also be a Zoom consultation later for people who can’t attend an event in person.

The deputy chairman of the Transport Committee of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, Clr Peter Carlill, stated: “The Combined Authority and our five local councils are working tirelessly to ensure that we have a better-connected region that works for everyone.”

We cannot ensure that we are building a transport system that serves all people unless we have heard about the experiences of as many members of the public as possible and gathered their thoughts on our goals and actions.

We invite as many people as possible to sign up and attend these events because they are important for West Yorkshire in the upcoming years.

The online consultation is on Wednesday February 19 2025 at 5pm.
