West Brom next manager latest as Tony Mowbray claim debunked
Since Carlos Corberan departed during the Christmas season, West Bromwich Albion has been searching for a new head coach.
Once more, Tony Mowbray has been connected to a heartfelt comeback to West Bromwich Albion.
The 61-year-old, who is having a hiatus from football after quitting Birmingham City last season due to health issues, was reportedly on the shortlist to replace Carlos Corberan this morning, according to The Sun.
According to the report, Mowbray has had two meetings with Albion and is available for employment. He is also on Swiss coach Raphael Wicky’s shortlist.
After spending three years with the Baggies from 2006 to 2009, Mowbray assembled a strong squad that was promoted to the Premier League in 2008. Prior to the early conclusion of his stint at Blues, he had a lengthy managerial career with teams like Blackburn and Sunderland.
The former centre defender is still awaiting the medical all-clear to resume work after spending the last few months recuperating. The possibility of a return to The Hawthorns is eliminated, though, since BirminghamLive is aware it is not likely to be the timeline in which Albion is functioning.
