Martin Allen believes Wayne Rooney would be a valuable addition to David Moyes’ coaching staff if he is chosen Everton manager.

The Englishman has had a difficult time in management, failing to impress and being fired by Birmingham City and Plymouth in the last year. A coaching position at his boyhood club with his former manager might rekindle his managing career and give the Toffees a much-needed boost.

It is uncertain whether Moyes would welcome his former player to his coaching staff or if Rooney would desire the position, but there is little doubt that Merseyside fans would be overjoyed if this happened.
