Harvey Knibbs, a Reading FC midfielder, has reportedly ‘accepted personal terms’ with a Championship team over a prospective transfer this month.
Due to continued financial issues, the Royals are under pressure to sell players this month in order to earn cash.
Club owner Dai Yongge allegedly put the club up for sale more than a year ago, but he has remained in command despite reported conversations with multiple parties over the last year.
Knibbs is the latest player to be linked with a move away, and he has piqued the interest of several Championship teams.
According to a BBC Radio Derby correspondent, Knibbs has signed personal terms with the Rams, and the two teams are ‘near’ to reaching an agreement on a cost.
Knibbs moved to the Royals on a free transfer from Cambridge United in 2023.
Knibbs was originally deployed on the wing but found his finest form as a central attacking midfielder for the Royals after Ruben Selles changed his system.
He had a good debut season with the club, scoring 16 times in 53 games across all competitions.
He has extended that form into this season, scoring ten goals in 23 games, eight of which came in League One.
