With the January transfer window in full swing, Leeds could miss out on Josh Brownhill, who is considering offers from Premier League clubs and abroad.
LeedsUnited.News reported in November that Brownhill was a target, and with the 29-year-old central midfielder already having nine goals and three assists in 25 Championship appearances (transfermarkt) and available on a free transfer this summer, it’s easy to see why the All Whites would want to sign him now.
Leeds are set to miss out on Josh Brownhill
Even though Daniel Farke expects Leeds to add players in January, and Mergim Berisha is close to a loan agreement with the club, potentially losing out on Brownhill will undoubtedly be disappointing.
Give Me Sport reports that West Ham are mulling a move for the midfielder, who is also reportedly evaluating offers from abroad.
It is unclear whether Burnley will seek to extend the player’s contract or allow him to leave, but doing so at this point might jeopardise their title hopes.
Leeds ace is ‘dissatisfied’ at Elland Road
The Clarets are now second in the Championship standings, only one point behind Leeds, and both are on track for automatic promotion if they can begin to draw away from the chasing group.
West Ham want Josh Brownhill.
Sunderland and Sheffield United are the other two teams in contention for the English second tier title. From Brownhill’s perspective, this could be his last chance to make a huge professional move.
With Graham Potter having recently taken over at West Ham, it could be an ideal time for Brownhill to join the East London club as the manager continues to reshape the squad.
