“Really bizarre” – Pundit hands Leeds United warning over Middlesbrough transfer
West Ham United of the Premier League is also interested in the 26-year-old, so the Whites are not the only team interested in him. However, Football Insider claims that the Boro star is valued at £15 million. Despite a poor start, Latte Lath has scored 10 goals in the Championship so far this season, and his ability to score goals has been a major factor in Middlesbrough’s drive for the playoffs throughout the 2024–2025 season. However, according to GiveMeSport, Leeds, who are presently atop the table, are very interested in the Ivorian striker and hope he would join them in their pursuit of the league title and a return to the Premier League following relegation two seasons ago.
Palmer believes Leeds will have trouble in a possible Latte Lath deal.
Farke is determined to strengthen his hitting department before the final stretch, even if the Whites are in a very strong position for the second half of the season. With the top four teams separated by just four points after 26 games, Leeds will want as much muscle up front as possible, even though Joel Piroe has scored as many goals as Latte Lath. However, Palmer, a former midfielder for Sheffield Wednesday and England, thinks that reaching an agreement might be harder than it first appears.
He stated in an exclusive interview with Football League World: “The news coming out of Elland Road is that Leeds United are showing serious interest in Middlesbrough striker Emmanuel Latte Lath.”Middlesbrough is in a play-off spot, currently in fifth place. With ten goals under his belt, they are not in a position to sell the striker, so why would they do so to a rival? They reportedly rejected Ipswich Town’s offer of £20 million during the summer transfer window, therefore I don’t see how they will sell him to Leeds United for a reported £15 million when they had reportedly rejected more.
It seems that Leicester City, with a bid of £12 million, was also interested in him. I don’t see it taking place. Currently, Michael Carrick is working to get his team promoted to the Premier League. You won’t sell a player you brought into the team who took a while to get going but is now doing so. I know his agent has been making a lot of noise. He is now pushing them in the direction of the Premier League and scoring goals. Unless you receive an absurd offer, you won’t sell that player during the January transfer window.”
Palmer went on: “I am aware that Daniel Farke is trying to find a striker and wants to bring one into the team. Joe Gelhardt goes the opposite way, and you never know if a financial arrangement might be made where he might purchase him. Allowing a player of his caliber to join a different team with whom you are vying for promotion would be an absolutely insane move. However, his agent is making a lot of fuss, and the club may opt to let him go and find a successor if they sense that he is not comfortable. However, Middlesbrough Football Club will undoubtedly reject the £15 million that is being offered. “We’ll have to wait and see what happens,” the statement reads. However, as previously stated, I would be extremely shocked if Middlesbrough were to sell him to a rival, and if they did so in order to promote him, the price would undoubtedly be far higher than £15 million.”
Emmanuel Latte Lath might help Leeds United get promoted.
Even though Piroe has been scoring goals, Latte Lath is a better player than the Spaniard and would be a great addition as the Whites try to gain promotion after losing in the 2023–2024 play-offs. The Ivorian is a continual annoyance to opponents and has some of the best off-ball movement in the division. For Leeds, his ability to sneak up on his opponent’s backline would be crucial, and their inventive midfielders would work wonders with him.
