Norwich City: Max Aarons set to join Valencia on loan

The 25-year-old has battled for playing time at Bournemouth this season, starting only once in the Premier League, a 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace last month.

That has opened the door to an escape for Aarons, with sources saying that la Terreta will bring him to the Mestalla Stadium on a contract until the end of the season. An option to make the trade permanent for £7.5 million will be included, potentially ending Aarons’ unsuccessful tenure with the Cherries.

He came to Dorset in the summer of 2023 after five years with the first team at Carrow Road, completing his long-awaited move for £9 million plus add-ons. He was supposed to reconnect with former City manager Daniel Farke at Leeds United just hours before, but chose for a return to the top flight instead.

He has only made 26 appearances in 18 months under Andoni Iraola, failing to impress and casting doubt on his future.

The former under-21 international appeared 213 times for Norwich, contributing six goals and 13 assists. He helped the club win two Championship titles under Farke and was linked with Barcelona and Manchester United.
